Getting Personal with Babies

Getting Personal with Babies

There’s 1 original fact that I have to admit, now and here : We still have plenty of our photos unpublished either on this website or any other supporting gallery that we have currently. Anyway, tak perlu cerita panjang, let’s get personal, baby! Yeah, I mean, baby. Not you baby, but baby, baby.  Are you with me..?

This time, we’ll share about the session we had with  little baby Widad and her fantabulous family. We had a 2-hour session - 1 hour for group portraiture consist of several small groups of the family - kids group, adults group, etc. , and 1 hour for Widad and the parents-Maslina & Yuszamir but we’ll skip on those group photos and let Widad get the limelight in this entry, shall we? As mentioned in our earlier post, we have photographed Maslina and Yuszamir on their engagement and wedding ceremony about a year ago. Obviously, we feel honored to be given the opportunity to celebrate their union, and  this time, the love of their life.

The name is Nur Widad Kamilah. She sleeps like a princess, kan?

Since Widad dah berumur lebih dari sebulan, dia taklah tidur lama seperti kebanyakan bayi baru lahir. Jadi bila Widad dah terjaga, macam gambar di bawah ni, agaknya apa dia kata, eh?

img_1221-1260

"Are you talkin' to me?"

Let’s see some photos taken when Widad is finally  aware that she is getting ‘extra attention’.  I purposely chose these photos because I personally love ‘em. Comel sangat, especially when I start  making up dialogues:mrgreen: .

"Owh, no pictures please. I haven't put on my makeup"

img_1267-edit

*Allright, I can't hide anymore* "Err..Hi, girlfriend..."

img_1268-edit-2

"Are you lookin' at my nose? Wat's your problem, man....?"

Hihihii…Pandai-pandai je saya create dialogue:lol:. Itu memang kegemaran masa lapang saya, main Teka-Apa-Dia-Kata (pandai-pandai create nama game pulak). Alright for now, here’s the last shot from the session.

Comel sangat tapak kaki kecil warna merah tu diapit tapak tangan ayah dan umminya, kan? To Maslina & Yuszamir, again, congratulations on your newborn. Semoga hidup anda lebih bersinar setiap hari. You are always welcome to have another session with us, perhaps when Widad turn 1:lol:? To Widad, jangan nakal-nakal tau…

Aku Ada Kerana Kau Ada - A Time Capsule For Widad

Aku Ada Kerana Kau Ada - A Time Capsule For Widad

I’m planning to share some brief tips on photographing babies/infants, tapi rasanya tunggu selepas saya boleh letakkan gambar-gambar lain daripada series Widad ni, jadi boleh kita rujuk sama-sama, ok kawan-kawan:wink:?

Widad ni comel sangat, dia asyik tidur saja mulanya, tapi ada teknik nak bagi dia sedar - picit tapak kaki dia. So cute, kan?Allright, I’ll leave you guys wondering and waiting for the rest of the series. For now, here’s the one I promised. Chill..

Who Says A Photographer Is Just A Photographer? Raise your feet :p

Who Says A Photographer Is Just A Photographer? Raise your feet :p

Hello, hello, hello! Ya, memang it has been too long since the last time we wrote here. And yes, I have promised not to be a bad blogger, but hey, I’ve got lots and lots of idea to blog about, and it’s been lining up in the draft queue for so long. Hopefully it will be enough to make up for the broken promise . I know, I know, I can hear you saying “Yeah, right!”. Saya terima dengan seikhlas hati . Ok, enough of my rantings.

Ain and Kay first met when they were working in the same building years ago. At first, we were planning to have a pre-wedding session, but we had to change the plan as Kay was working in Kuantan (if I’m not mistaken. Ain, please correct me if I’m wrong) and time is definitely an issue. So, they agreed to have a post-wedding portraiture session, which was done a day after the wedding reception.

During our earlier discussion, when pre-wedding session was planned, we discussed about the storyline of the session and how it can be materialised. We suggested that the storyline shows how they first get to know each other, and the usual places/spots that will always remind them of their ‘zaman mengorat’ (courtship period). It was all fun, fun, fun! Not to mention the ‘cucur udang’ that  accompanied our discussion that afternoon was also delicious, that Fadhil can’t help himself from ordering another additional plate, and that adds-up to the fun of the whole discussion .

During the several series of meeting with Ain, we have not met Kay, not before the wedding day itself.  So we do not know what to expect of his character. Walaupun Ain sendiri pernah bercerita tentang Kay, but we all know how some people might act differently when being around people they are not very close with, kan?

So when the plan changed to post-wedding session, I quickly drafted some ideas on how to create LIFE  in their photos, instead of  normal dramatic poses. And so, the session was carried out at Bagan Lalang beach, on Monday afternoon. Though we were expecting to start at around 4 pm, tapi, kami faham betapa sibuknya newly-wed couple walaupun setelah sehari selesai majlis resepsi sebab sudah tentu mereka masih sibuk menerima kunjungan saudara-mara yang datang melawat ke rumah. Jadi, kami mulakan sessi hari itu lebih kurang pukul 5 petang (atau mungkin menghampiri pukul 6 petang) and some of the pre-planned ideas (yang sengaja dirahsiakan daripada Ain dan kay) terpaksa dibatalkan to make sure that we could finish the session on time. Nevertheless, we still had fun ‘bullying’ the couple .

For a start, as usual, I briefed them on how the session will be carried out, and some dos and donts during the session (Notes to other budding photographers : Yes, communication SANGAT penting. Hmm, why am I talking/writing like a Miss-Know-It-All here, eh..? No, lah, just sharing some thoughts, tak salah kan?

And so, the session started with some normal pose shots of the couple, before we continue with some ‘idea-idea membuli’ . Tak, tak, jangan takut, kami buli demi kebaikan bersama . I don’t know if Ain and Kay liked them as well, I hope they do) yang tunjukkan di bawah.

Ain & Kay

Ain & Kay

(And owh, mind the blur object on the top-left frame of the photo, that was my hand holding my beloved smartphone which was playing the song Lucky-Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat.) Perhaps some of you know this game, it is similar to the Newspaper Dance game, whereby 2 people dance with music on a sheet of newspaper. After a while, the newspaper is folded in half and then they dance again.

Ain & Kay

No worries, I was not too strict on them. When Kay lifted Ain and danced, he was’nt actually dancing in the box, but hey, who cares?(I don’t think he knows that before I wrote this, hahaha. Do you, Kay?). As long as they had great bonding time, great moments and we manage to capture great emotions, and everybody is happy, what more can we ask, betul tak? The game was conducted just to help the couple to cheer up a lil’ bit and make themselves comfortable with our presence there.

Jadi, siapa kata seorang jurugambar cuma seorang jurugambar? We never say that, because we treat each and every assignment as personal, as if it’s our own precious moments. We personally consult the client by ourself, we personally get to know the client, we personally shoot the client, and we personally value the whole process as much as the couple personally value it as their investment. We don’t make your wedding/event as a traning ground. After all, It’s Our Personal Affair . Thank you, Ain and Kay for willingly having an affair with us, even if it’s just for a while. We certainly love working with both of you, and wish you a happy and loving married life together.

Till my next ranting in the next entry (I hope it wont be long:wink:), here ’s their online web gallery. Ciao!

.: Let’s have a ‘personal affair’. Join us on Facebook :.

Sneak preview of Rocket & Connie’s wedding portraiture shots

Sneak preview of Rocket & Connie's wedding portraiture shots

Rocket & Connie

We love teaser! And we love to tease our viewer with a sneak preview of our shots, especially wedding shots (I know some of you have been hoping to catch a glimpse at this couple’s wedding shots by now…) Here’s a shot  from a portraiture session for Inspector Fazree (a.k.a. Rocket) and Noreen (a.k.a. Connie). This police officer must have been a rockstar for being known as ‘Rocket’.  Even his wife calls him by that name:mrgreen:.

A short story behind the portraiture session -  after we wrapped up the session and about to make a move from the location, Rocket realised that he left his car key at one of our shooting locations that evening. Fadhil and Rocket went back to the location but they didn’t find the keys. So, Noreen and I stayed back while Fadhil drove Rocket back to his house to check on a spare key. In between the search and attempts to ‘break-in’ the car, I stayed with Connie, chatting, while answering some questions from passers-by, somewhat  like this :

Question 1 : “Are you from production house?”

Question2 : ” Are you really married or a model?”

Question 3 : ” Ini betul-betul kawin ke tipu-tipu?”

Macam mana mereka tak tanya macam tu, the bride was sitting on a 2-steps ladder, dengan pedang yang berkilat (dalam sarungnya, of course, dan ya, sarungnya berkilat), dan berkaki ayam  . Agak confusing, kan? Plus, did I mention that Noreen does look like a model in a few shots taken that day? (I bet you get even more excited to see the final images while reading this, huh..? hihihihih.. ) Anyway, Rocket and Noreen, you guys memang rock! .

Do check out this page again, to catch the final images in their web gallery pretty soon:grin:. Or even better, subscribe to our next update through email , so that you won’t miss it!

Owh, here’s another one .
